Samplify Systems Signs Cytech Technology as Its New Distributor in China

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Samplify Systems, Inc., a provider of mixed-signal compression solutions for intelligent data conversion, today extends its distribution channel to China with the announcement of Cytech Technology as its newest distributor in the region. As the fastest growing distributor of electronic components in Hong Kong and China, Cytech will be a key ally driving Samplify's recently launched SAM1600 family of A/D converters, with the company's integrated real-time signal compression technology, into the rapidly expanding Chinese medical imaging and wireless base stations markets.

"We are excited to work with Cytech to make more readily available the exceptional system and cost benefits of the SAM1600 family to Chinese manufacturers of ultrasound and cellular base station equipment," said Allan Evans, VP of marketing for Samplify. "Thanks to Cytech, we have engagements with all of the top ultrasound manufacturers in the China market. With Cytech on board, these customers will receive excellent local support as they evaluate our products."

Samplify's Prism™ real-time signal compression embedded in the SAM1600 family devices delivers high value for ultrasound systems and multi-antenna, direct-conversion WiMax base stations. The SAM1600 family provides twice the channel density and half the power of existing solutions without sacrificing analog performance for ultrasound front-ends. SAM1600 members also are well suited for digital repeaters and fourth generation (4G) wireless base stations using smart antenna or MIMO (multiple-in-multiple-out) technology. 4G wireless systems can take advantage of the cost savings of direct-conversion radio architectures enabled by these devices. SAM1600 enables wireless OEMs to send increased amounts of baseband data over the same fiber-optic infrastructure already in place for 3G systems.

"Since engaging with Samplify earlier this year, we have seen tremendous acceptance of the company's compression technology and intelligent data converters within our medical imaging and wireless infrastructure accounts," said Horace Lai, Technical Marketing Manager of Cytech Ltd, Hong Kong. "With their technology available in both silicon and FPGA forms, we can uniquely offer complete end-to-end signal compression solutions to our customers."

Samples of Samplify's SAM1600 family of intelligent ADCs are currently available through Cytech's sales offices throughout China and Hong Kong.
